IUPUI’s Department of Library and Information Science is launching a free, massive open online course focusing on public libraries. The school says one of the goals of the four-week course is to examine the feasibility of using it as professional development for Indiana librarians.

The course begins April 6, is open to anyone anywhere, and registration will continue after the class begins.

The course will cover four topics, one each week:
* Customer Service and the User Experience
* Youth Librarianship: Best Practices to Serve our Youngest Patrons
* Technology: Improving Library Services by Managing Technology
* Community Engagement
