A hello note from the new Director of the Manlius Library…
I am so excited to introduce myself as the new Director of the Manlius Library! Prior to coming to the Manlius Library, I was the Director of the Sherrill-Kenwood Free Library, where I had served since 2011. Previously I was in systems engineering management at Lockheed Martin. I received my BSEE from Clarkson University in 1995 and spent the next 16 years working in the engineering field, finishing this stage of my career in systems engineering management at Lockheed Martin. I decided to pursue a degree in Library Science because I have long felt that the power of the written word to entertain, inform, educate, and inspire is immeasurable. There are very few things that have the same capability to change people’s lives and public libraries make these wonderful resources accessible to everyone.
I grew up in Central New York and my husband and I now raise our two children here. I am honored and enthusiastic about the opportunity to enhance the greater Manlius community by working with the dedicated and talented staff at the Manlius Library in collaboration with such an enthusiastic and supportive community.
