Please provide a brief narrative explaining what the grant was used for and its outcomes.
The grant was used to provide education to community members about the solar eclipse and to buy supplies for the Solar Eclipse Viewing event at the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville.
We booked a speaker from the Museum of Science and Technology to give a family friendly presentation on the science behind the solar eclipse, as well as ways to safely view it. We had a small turn out, but a local girl scout group was in attendance and used it as part of working toward a badge.
The day of the event, we were able to offer children and families chalk and paper to work on art projects while we waited for the eclipse. We also were able to offer patrons access to water. We had a group of people hang out with us for several hours while we waited, and we viewed the event together.
