This announcement comes from Libby Post, President and CEO of Communication Services:

There were two big wins for the library community on Tuesday, June 23. The Dunkirk Free Library won its vote with 53% of the vote to become a school district public library. Victor Farmington Library won its school district funding initiative with 85% of the vote. Both libraries will now have stable, sustainable funding.

Hats off to Jan Dekoff, Dunkirk Director, and the Library’s Board and Friends, as well as to Elly Dawson, Victor Farmington Director, and her Board and Friends for jobs well done. Public education through mailings and presentations, voter identification, and getting folks out to vote! That’s what makes it all work!

Congrats also to Albany Public Library and Mount Vernon Public Library for their wins.
