CLRC’s annual membership meeting and conference was held on Thursday, October 19.
Over 75 people attended the events from all four of the Council’s counties (and beyond).
The room was full for the afternoon conference held at the Baldwinsville Public Library. Linda Hofschire, the Director of Colorado State’s Library Research Services and 2017 Library Journal’s Mover and Shaker, presented the keynote address on Data-Powered Libraries.
The day moved along with a poster session on nine amazing topics from makerspaces to online instruction, social media to faculty writing spaces. The conference concluded with ten lightning talks teaching us about customizing your keyboard, the Erie Canal, improving patron experiences and staff quizzes.
Thank you to the Bville Library for their wonderful hospitality.
The evening festivities were held at the Red Mill Inn, just over the bridge in Baldwinsville. The weather cooperated beautifully for a pleasant social hour out on the terrace. After dinner, the Library Award ceremony honored regional library staff all-stars and libraries of the year.

Former CLRC staffers, Mike McLane, Jeannette Smithee and Nancy Howe caught up on the old days.
It was great to see Debby Emerson and Deirdre Joyce again, our past Director and Assistant Director.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to our first fifty years.
We look forward to serving your library needs for the next fifty.
