In partnership with the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce, the library hosted a viewing party for over 350 people at Austin Park, a centrally located park in town. Grant funds were used to purchase lawn games, colanders to view sun shadows, craft supplies (paper plates, markers, crayons, sidewalk chalk), and bubbles. The event was a huge hit for our community — while everyone patiently waited & hoped for the clouds to clear people of all ages played games together, decorated the patio with chalk art, chased bubbles and made safety viewers. While the eclipse itself was an amazing event, it was also incredibly amazing to see our community come together and just be together.
