RRLC In-Person Workshop: Project Management Fundamentals

Do you manage events and projects at your library or cultural heritage institution? No matter the project’s size, a robust understanding of project management can help you work more efficiently. This workshop is for any library worker whose role involves planning and completing projects, at any level. Walk away from class with project management tools to help you plan and manage your projects effectively!
In this workshop, you will learn:
– What a project lifecycle is and how to manage a project through each phase.
– How to identify and plan for project constraints.
– Simple tools to use to define a project scope, identify possible risks, and manage a project’s schedule and assign tasks.
– How to engage and manage a project team, including non-direct reports.
This session uses short presentations, interactive activities, and group discussions to engage you in key project management concepts and practices. Participants will build knowledge and skills which can be immediately applied to make meaningful enhancements in the workplace.
