RRLC Webinar: Reproductive Health and the Reference Desk

Reproductive health care is not only a health access concern, but it is also an information access issue. Amid changing legislation regarding sexual and reproductive health care, library professionals may be left wondering how they can accurately provide this information to their community. In this webinar, attendees will learn about reproductive health as an information aspect, introduce the Reproductive Justice framework as it relates to intellectual freedom, and discover methods for creating environments that foster credible information access.
Presenter: Barbara Alvarez, PhD is the author of The Library’s Guide to Sexual and Reproductive Health Information with ALA Editions. She holds a PhD in Information Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison where she studied reproductive health information. Barbara is a 2022 Library Journal Mover & Shaker and a 2011 Spectrum Scholar.
