CLRC supports medical libraries and colleges by providing access to databases, continuing education, subsidizing medical interlibrary loans, and supporting small hospitals with circuit librarian services. Some of these services (MISP and Health Literacy) are open to the broader CLRC community.

Medical Circuit Librarian

In partnership with Upstate Medical University, CLRC provides direct library services to small hospitals that are unable to support a librarian on staff.  These services include in-person site visits, reference services, interlibrary loan requests, database training for hospital staff, and assistance with developing library policies and procedures.

Our Medical Circuit Librarian, Sarah Lawler (health@clrc.org), serves our three circuit hospitals: Community Memorial, Oneida Health, and Rome Health.

Health Literacy

CLRC promotes health literacy by sharing medical resources and holding continuing education events.  We hold a health literacy virtual event in the late-spring that is open to all members.  Previous events have featured author interviews, book talks, and NNLM webinars.
