‘Transformers 3’ Updates: This weekend’s Chicago filming locations, upcoming Indiana locations and extras needed in Detroit

This weekend, Transformers 3 continues filming in Chicago at the following locations:

LaSalle Street from Kinzie Street to Wacker Drive will close tonight and will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday.

There will also be lane closures and intermittent traffic control on mid-level Wacker between Lake Shore Drive and Lower Michigan Avenue from 4 a.m. on Saturday to 12 p.m. on Sunday.

In addition, there is a safety zone that will be enforced between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on August 8 and will encompass all U.S. navigable waters of the Chicago River between the Dearborn Street Bridge, and the Wabash Street Bridge due to filming.

The shoot will include pyrotechnics and special effects– including simulated gunfire, smoke, fireballs and explosions.

This weekend’s filming will be the last major T3 shoot in the Chicago, though they will continue to work in the city through August 21, but the remaining shoots will be on a much smaller scale.

Transformers 3 will also return to Gary, Indiana this month. Filming will take place on property owned by Majestic Star Casino and at the publicly owned City Methodist Church at West 6th Avenue and Washington Street. The Gary shoot will take place as early as next week but no later than Aug. 23.

In addition to Chicago and Gary, Transformers 3 will also be filming in Detroit at the end of August and they are currently looking for extras in Michigan. To apply, submit a current picture and your name, phone number, age, height, weight, and sizes to trans3detroit@gmail.com.
