New photos of Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper filming ‘Silver Linings Playbook’

A huge thank you to Bill for sending these photos from the set of Silver Linings Playbook, filming on Madison Ave in Upper Darby, PA, this week.

In these new photos Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver are arguing with Bradley Cooper, their on screen son. According to PhillyFilmGirl, “De Niro tells him to take off the trash bag and get into the car.”

Of course their disagreement was only for a scene in the movie which follows Bradley’s character as he tried to win his wife back after four years in a mental hospital.

The movie will continue filming in the Upper Darby neighborhood through next week. If you spot them filming, let us know about it!

Thanks again to Bill for sharing his photos!

  1. i dont know how he managed to get those photos. i was there today the cops are horrendous…definitely bribed to be ultra-aggressive. i left early and will not return.

  2. I was there too. It was fun. Acting is a job. All those people need to get paid. No filming no movie. Plus its not as fun as you think long hours and stuff. Bradley Cooper is from our area, don’t you think the man should be able to get his job done and visit his mom and sleep and eat. I loved the people who were asking the poor worker on street to pull the actors out of the house to come talk to us. IM sorry My friend and I went on the other side of the telephone pole and stayed there

  3. How many major events happen in Darby Pa. So police act and protect celebrities like they are the president. That is why people in neighbor hoods complain about movie companies. They take most of the parking and treat people like shit because the mayors offices gives them and the police the power which brings in revenue
in to the town. The almost had two cops on every corner with in a five block area. I think crime is more important that someone trying to take a couple of photo’s.

  4. Friday was horrible. The issue isn’t the police. Its the ignorant people from the area. I’ve grown up around here my whole life and I can’t believe the way people were acting. Screaming at the top of their lungs and hoards of teenagers yelling Cooper through the streets. This is why the police are being strict. Also it’s UPPER DARBY Pa, not Darby Pa…HUGE difference. Like…Upper
Darby has nice areas(where they are filming) and Darby is under a usually state of emergency with a 9 pm curfew on certain streets because of the crime. There are about 4 towns that separate the two.

    • I under stand that some people out there don’t behave civilized but most cops from most towns including state troopers treat celebrities like they are gods and will even prevent you from talking a picture on public street when they have no right to just because the movie companies don’t want it. It’s nonsense !

  5. if you have ever been to a city in which they film a lot, you will notice that you are actually allowed to watch and aren’t pushed to two blocks away. i watched a cop threaten to beat the crap out of a photographer in upper darby simply because the director said he ‘wanted no photos well unfortunately if you film on a public street that isn’t a choice you can make…but when in a fascist hell like the suburbs of philly apparently it is…if you have enough money to bribe the police.

    • The NYC cops are the best. They don’t get bullied by the movie companies. They are there to assist everyone equally and if things get out of hand they quickly take action but for the most part they give photogs there right to shoot in a public area.

  6. My name is MaryAnne Claro, I have been a Union Agent for the past 36 years and in the same location in Philadelphia. We book TV Radio Film and Theater. This is a business, not a joke – think of it would any of you like people coming around your business screaming and taking pictures all day and night. I doubt it !! So have some respect, the police are there for a reason, there are so many insane people in this world, they have to protect the talent. Enjoy the fact that a talent like Mr. DI Nero is in our area. Stop with the complaints. The Union, Sag has rules and regulations that must be followed so try to understand these are all top professionals. Have some respect for this industry please.

  7. I am from the neighborhood my entire life….we are not low life’s….we are very proud of our neighborhood and VERY honored that Mr. DeNiro and Mr. Cooper are filming on the streets that I grew up on…I have been by numerous times…the police are doing a great job keeping things in order and the production team have a job to do…to film a movie and keep things in line for the ACTORS to do their job…..I met both actors and they are SUPER nice, very humble and gracious…..I will cherish my picture with Robert DeNiro for years to come and THANK the film co for coming to UD….as a matter of fact we have alot more locations worthwhile for hollywood films…hope to see everyone back soon:)

  8. I was at a friend’s house in Ridley Park last Friday and we saw Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence filiming right in front of her house. I got some good pics and even talked to Bradley briefly after the shot when I yelled Hi and told him he was doing a great job. He smile and said hi and thanked me. It was very cool!

  9. It is an honor and a thrill that these fine and interesting actors, especially “Robert” have agreed to film in Delaware County. Over the years, I have met various personalities and basically, they just want to be treated normally.
    Thanks for the memories, guys.
