Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ shoot moves to Santa Clarita, CA

Last we heard, Django Unchained was filming in the Mammoth Lakes region of California, but now we can confirm the shoot has moved to Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita, where director Quentin Tarantino is expected to continue filming for the next couple of weeks before moving to New Orleans.

The movie, which has an amazing cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jamie Foxx, centers on a recently freed slave called Django who assists a German bounty hunter in exchange for help getting revenge on the Plantation owner who has kidnapped his wife. New York Mag describes the upcoming film as “a mash-up of Western and slave drama”.

Melody Ranch, a popular location for Western movies and TV shows in the Los Angeles area, also houses one of the world’s largest collections of one-of-a-kind movie memorabilia which can be toured by appointment. For details visit MelodyRanchStudio.com.
