The list of celebrity grand marshals riding with the Krewe of Orpheus is quickly growing.
Hillary Swank and Mariska Hargitay will join the list of already-announced celebrities, as well as Orpheus founder Harry Connick Jr., for the New Orleans parade.
Hargitay is currently working with Connick Jr. on Law and Order: SVU, and Swank shared the screen with him in the movie P.S. I Love You.
Cyndi Lauper, Bret Michaels, Jonathan Silverman, Jennifer Finnigan, Sarah Hyland, and Matt Prokop will also be on hand for the celebration.
The parade and Orpheuscapade take place on Lundi Gras (February 20). Tickets can be purchased at kreweoforpheus.com.

Somewhere on another webpage back in summer 2011 regarding Chris Meloni leaving the show, I posted a theory that Detective Benson would excel in her role without Chris Meloni being in the show. When I saw the season finale where Chris Meloni shot and killed the young girl in the police station, I just knew that he didn’t like where his character was going and knew he better get away from the Law Order SVU show.
I have seen all the SVU shows via Netflix over and over and AmazonInstantVideo. Olivia Benson’s character really needed to have a relationship with someone that wasn’t married. It was nice that she was close to Detective Stabler but he was smart to pay attention to his wife and family and stop wasting time on other women that he did not have children with.
Believe it or not, Detective Benson should still remain a main character in the show and I also feel the SVU show could last another 3 seasons for sure. Her relationship with her new partner is growing. In my opinion, it really helped his character when he talked about his time in Afghanistan dealing with the enemy and using torture to extract information from them. This provided his character with the background that he had dealt with war situations and not just a cop from NYPD that made his way through the ranks from street cop to detective.
