One of our readers, John, sent us a few photos from the USA Network Characters Unite experience that took place in New York’s Union Square last week.
According to a press release, the Feb. 8 event was part of USA’s Characters Unite Month “to shine a special spotlight on the importance of combating hate and discrimination. The interactive pop-up experience provided New Yorkers the opportunity to spread the message that each of us, whoever we are, wherever we’re from can do something to fight intolerance.”
John told us, “People were able to get a free t-shirt saying what they stood against. Tim DeKay was there and had a shirt that read I WON’T Stand for Bullying and Homophobia. Tiffani Thiessen [held up] a shirt that said I WON’T Stand for Hate and Injustice.”
Tiffani and Tim’s co-star Matt Bomer also made headlines this weekend for taking a stand against intolerance in his own way by publicly acknowledging his partner for the first time.
