In addition to the scenes already scheduled to film in Lincoln, MA, the producers of Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks, have also firmed up plans to shoot in Sudbury, MA on March 29.
The movie will film in Sudbury’s Town Center and the Wayside Inn on the same day.
“There has been an advanced team or site scouting team that has been looking at Town Center and looking at different angles to use for a drive-thru scene,” Board of Selectmen Chairman Larry O’Brien said.
Captain Phillips stars Tom Hanks as real life ship captain Richard Phillips who allowed himself to be taken hostage by Somali pirates in exchange for the safety of his crew. Phillips’ memoir which the movie is base on, A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea, recounts his three days in captivity and his dramatic rescue.
