‘Gangter Squad’ Re-shoots will begin on August 20 in Los Angeles

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers ha scheduled re-shoots for Gangster Squad for the week of August 20.

A scene in the film featuring a shootout in Hollywood’s famed Grauman’ Chinese Theatre has been cut from the film and will be “reconceived” after the July 20 theater shooting in Aurora, CO. The movie’s premiere date has also been pushed back to from September 7 to January 11 to accommodate changes to the movie’s theater scene.

Those scenes for the period crime drama will now be replaced with shots filmed in L.A.’s Chinatown beginning August 20. The main players in the scene — Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Robert Patrick, Troy Garity and Michael Pena — are being brought back for night shoots that will last at least three to seven days.
