On Thursday, Johnny Depp appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman again and as usual there was a huge crowd gathered outside the NYC studio to see him.
One of our contributors, Denise, was there and described the scene:
They closed the street again and Johnny started his way around, but it got extra chaotic when the Cinderella [Broadway] show had a matinee that was letting out and it clogged the sidewalk.
[Cinderella] star Fran Drescher came out and once she left in a car, it caused an opening in the barricades, which led to people running down there and into the street. This made Johnny’s bodyguard stop the signing and he literally picked him up and took him to his car.
Since Letterman announced his retirement we’re expecting the crowds outside will continue to grow so we’d get there early if you’re hoping to catch your favorite star! Wanna get all the scoop about meeting celebs at Letterman? Pick up our NYC Field Guide!
I was at that Cinderella matinee and the entire street was a madhouse. It was an extremely dangerous place to be.
West 53rd Street was very busy on Thursday afternoon with the cast of Cinderella arriving for, and departing from, their matinee performance, and the throng assembled to meet & greet Johnny.
Here are a few of my pictures from that afternoon:
