This week, the cast and crew began shooting the final episodes of Rizzoli & Isles.
In January TNT confirmed what many fans had already been speculating – season 7 will be the last for the hit series, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.
TNT president Kevin Reilly made the announcement at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, saying, “This is the last year for Rizzoli & Isles. That’s just the way it went down. [Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander] have had a really satisfying experience. I don’t know that they wouldn’t do anymore.” Reilly added, “But they felt very comfortable that it’s had a good run. Everyone said, ‘Let’s go out and finish 13 great ones and call it a day.’”
Currently, the show is filming those final 13 episodes, which will debut on TNT later this year. We’ve also confirmed R&I will be filming at their studio, Paramount, in Hollywood tomorrow, Feb. 11.

I’m very sad to see this show go! It is by far one of my favorite shows on TV. Why do they always have to let the good shows go? 🙁
A good move would be to replace “Isles,” as those of us who watch her semi-nude body in bed on “Shameless” find it hard to go back to the this pseudo-innocent Isles. I won’t be watching the last season. It’s a shame because I really liked the program and don’t think it should be canceled (unless they keep Maura in it).
If course we are sadden and hurt, such a great show, great chemistry, it doesn’t make since to end the show, please be honest and tell the fans the real reason the show is ending

It is a sad experience because the show is loved by fans worldwide. The series is a very special one because of its diversity and I am absolutely sad that it has to end after a short season 7. In my opinion, their stories are not told yet. The actors do a fantastic job, the people behind the scenes as well and please let us not forget writer Tess Gerritsen for being the inventor and real “mother” of our beloved heroines Jane and Maura. It is always the same: the good shows get cancelled while the stupid series stay on TV. There is nothing we can do against. It is only sad.
Why is it that whenever I really like a series, it suddenly stops? I love being able to watch Rizzoli and Isles every week. Now after the next 3 months, it won’t be on any more.
Im sorry to hear that r&i are to end they are fantastic together and so comical i have enjoyed watching them i will miss them very much
I love this serie …I never lose any chapter but I still don’t understand how come don’t let it in english . The voices in spanish are terrible…thanks from Caracas
I think it’s good to go out on top. Enjoy the show but could do less of Janes moms constant butting in! It’s important to know when to call it quits
I can’t believe they are ending this great TV show, which still has story to tell and characters to explore. I’m highly disappointed in TNT. This was adult programming at it’s best and some of the new shows TNT has coming out won’t make it far nor have the following. I don’t understand why the powers that be need to cancel this show. If you must end it, at least have more than 13 episodes.
Maybe TNT should consider bringing recently canceled “Unforgettable” to their programming.
I really enjoy watching “Rizzoli & Isles”! The cast and crew have made this murder mystery dou a great entertaining series! Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander, the two dominate ladies, in this tv series really do an outstanding job protraying their characters. Their male co-cast do a great job as well. I’m really do not understand why a great series has to come to end. My personal opinion is that this series is every bit as good as NCIS. That’s why I don’t understand this series can’t continue. I truly hope the cast find another program the open our eyes in acting ability.
So pitty R&I had finished. We are still watching season 5 and 6 in Argentina every weekend , always the same 10 chapters, always, every weekend because Tnt series repeats them since 1 year ago. A REAL SHAME. But season 7…never came.
