Today marked the start of production on Baywatch, the big screen reboot of the 90s TV series starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.

According to local news reports, film crews have closed the parking lot at beachfront park in southern Palm Beach County, Florida to film scenes at the county’s South Inlet Park and the City of Boca Raton’s jetty on the park’s north side. Film crews are expected to close park to vehicular traffic on Feb. 29 as well.

Among the scenes being filmed at the park is a stunt with a distressed kite surfer “who is rescued when an actor jumps into the water from the jetty.” A second stunt scene shows actors tossing a “body” into the water near the Boca Inlet. Permits show actors will “chum the water” using a “pseudo-chum” that was approved by the Coast Guard.

Crews are using the Spanish River Park in Boca Raton as their base camp through Mar. 3. The movie’s crew is reportedly staying at The Boca Raton Resort & Club. The production was expected to result in 1,600 nightly hotel room bookings, the permit shows.

After filming is completed in Florida, the movie will move to Savannah, GA, where they are still looking for extras.
