A Tradition of Excellence

Over the past 55 years, Unadilla has earned a reputation as one of the best tracks in the United States, if not the world. In addition to being the first track in the U.S. to host the MX des Nations, Unadilla has also been home to the 250 USGP and the fall Trans-AMA and Trans-USA series.

Today, Unadilla proudly hosts rounds of the US Motocross Nationals and JDay Off-Road Series, as well as the MX Rewind vintage racing weekend and amateur events.

Celebrating 55 Years of Legacy, Evolution, and Thrills

Unadilla Motocross began racing in 1969 and is celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2024, making it the longest-running track on the Pro National circuit. Its founder, Ward Robinson, fell in love with dirt bike racing after seeing a hare scrambles event. What started as Unadilla Valley Sports Center quickly became known as simply UNADILLA.

While Unadilla honors its roots and traditions, it has also adapted to the changing times. Unadilla is now second-generation family owned and operated, with siblings Greg and Jill Robinson having taken over in 2010.

Unmatched Amenities

During events from May through August, Unadilla Motocross offers essential amenities for visitors’ convenience. On-site showers, including a handicap unit, ensure cleanliness and accessibility. Flush toilets, including handicap units, are located in both the front and back parts of the facility. Event announcements are broadcasted on 90.5 FM, keeping attendees informed. Comfortable, pro-track bleacher seating enhances viewing pleasure. Water is available for barrel/drum and holding tank filing, while food vendors, including breakfast options, keep visitors fueled throughout the event.

From Dairy Farm to Racing Haven

Utilizing a former dairy farm, Unadilla was laid out to be European in nature. The track’s rolling natural terrain layout sprawls out over 55 acres of classic New York countryside, while the facility itself sits on 550 acres. Unadilla’s history is full of epic battles, which make sense once you consider that every significant racer in motocross’s history has challenged Unadilla over the years.

Enhancing Racing and Spectator Experiences

While many of the original track features remain (Gravity Cavity, The Wall), Unadilla has evolved over the years to respond to the changes within the sport, including the addition of “Sky Shot.” This jump would become one of the most iconic and photographed jumps on the circuit. Four new sections and a few track reworks have been added to enhance both racing and spectator experiences.

Journey Through Historic Events

Unadilla has proudly hosted the Trans-AMA (1970–1978), the Trans-USA (1979–1981), and the 250cc USGP (1978–1992) series. It has the distinction of hosting the MX des Nations (the Olympics of our sport) during its first ever appearance in the United States in 1987. In more recent times, Unadilla has been hosting an extremely popular vintage racing weekend entitled MX Rewind and several amateur racing events that bring racers and fans from throughout the United States to Chenango County. However, the jewel in the crown began in 1989, when Unadilla started hosting a round of the US Pro National Championship series.
