Please provide a brief narrative explaining what the grant was used for and its outcomes.
We utilized the CLRC eclipse grant for two programs. First, we used two copies of the picture book Eclipse by Andy Rash to create a StoryWalk around our library. Community members and school groups toured this display to learn what to expect with the eclipse and proper eye safety. Second, the Saturday before the eclipse, tweens and teens were able to create their own eclipse corona t-shirts while we watched short, informative eclipse videos. Participants learned about the science of eclipses – plus proper eye safety – while making wearable keepsakes marking this once-in-a-lifetime event.
