Nine Premieres Tonight in NYC!

We heard Daniel Day Lewis was at the London NYC Sunday night but everyone will have a chance to see DDL at the Nine premiere tonight which will be held at the Ziegfeld Theater, 141 W 54th Street, NYC, at 7:30 p.m., with the red carpet opening at 6:45 p.m.

Cast members Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Judi Dench, Fergie, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman and Sophia Loren are all expected to attend. Other guests will include Director Rob Marshall, Producers Harvey Weinstein, John DeLuca, and Marc Platt and special guests Georgina Chapman, Pedro Almodovar, Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Julie Taymor, Donald Trump, Melania Knauss, Tommy Tune, Josh Duhamel, Will.I.Am, Taboo and Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas, Emma Roberts, Chita Rivera, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Tony Bennett, Diane von Furstenberg, Barry Diller, Lorraine Bracco, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson and Michael Shannon.

Nine is a vibrant and provocative musical that follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) as he reaches a creative and personal crisis of epic proportion, while balancing the numerous women in his life including his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruz), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), a young American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the whore from his youth (Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson) and his mother (Sophia Loren). The original 1982 Broadway production of “NINE,” nominated for twelve Tony Awards and winning five, including Best Musical, was directed by Tommy Tune, choreographed by Thommie Walsh, starred Raúl Juliá with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and book by Arthur Kopit. The 2003 Broadway revival of “NINE” received eight Tony Award nominations and won two, including Best Revival of a Musical.
