‘The Runaways’ premiere in NYC was held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema, but OLV member StarMom36 passed up the opportunity to go to the premiere after she won tickets to an advance screening of the movie. Even after skipping a star-studded event, she still managed to meet the celebrity attendees at the after party.
It all started when @PattiInNYC informed her about a contest to win tickets to see the advance screening of ‘The Runaways‘ through Volturi Ventures. On March 11th, she received an e-mail confirming that she had won tickets to the March 17th screening which ran concurrently to the premiere. She chose to go to the advance screening and made sure to be the first in line to watch the movie.
With any event, many organizations are involved and after some time she was pushed to the back of the line. “We were so excited and ready to support Joan Jett’s life story,” she said. When they started pulling people ahead of us “I was very upset. It was very unorganized.”
However, she didn’t let the disorganization of the event get her down. “If it was not for @PattiInNYC I would have never known,” she said. “She helped all of us out to try to win these tickets too, we owe her for that.” She gave the film a great review, too. “It was great I must say. I want to see it again.”
Following the advance screening she got a tip that the ‘The Runaways’ after party was held downtown at the Bowery Hotel hosted by Tommy Hilfiger.
I waited on the side just in time to see them walking in! We saw the whole cast even the real Cherie Currie, as you see in the pics I took. I have video of Dakota Fanning saying hi to people on twitter and Joan Jett thanking me.
