‘Hall Pass’ filming in Atlanta on Wednesday

Owen Wilson will be filming Hall Pass at Lindbergh Marta Station, Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia Wednesday, 3.24. One of our readers spotted them putting up fake leaves on the trees outside of the AT&T building, across from Taco Mac.

On Monday, Hall Pass filmed at Applebee’s where one of our readers spotted Owen Wilson walking back and forth to his trailer. Reportedly, the scene will be near the beginning of the movie. Wilson’s character and his friends go to an Applebee’s to try to find women but end up striking out. The friends begin to leave the restaurant but end up staying to eat and ordering a LOT of appetizers (mostly ribs), and discuss going to a “titty bar” to fix the “tent in their pants.” Some of the actual Applebee’s wait staff and employees were used in the shoot too!

We also heard that Owen Wilson played a game of backgammon with his co-stars in between takes in full view of everyone on the set. Owen also invited fans over to his car to get autographs and meet him as he was leaving around 9:45 PM. One of those lucky fans, Caitlin, sent us the photos below, they’re all little blurry but you can still see Owen signing for the crowd! We also received a pic of one of the film’s directors (The Farrelly Brothers) setting up a club scene.

  1. Yes! This is right near my work, I’ll be sure to try and check it out tomorrow. Any idea if Jenna Fischer will be around, or is it just Owen Wilson reports right now?
(Mostly a Jenna Fischer fan, Owen Wilson doesn’t interest me as much)

    • Probably Owen Wilson and Jason; early reports are that this will be a scene with Owen and friend(s?) inside the Taco Mac. Calls have gone out for women to walk back and forth on the sidewalks out in front of the restaurant. This is why they had to “seed” the trees from about 3 – 7 p.m. Tuesday. It’s the same “seeding” done for the Suwanee Applebees scene on Monday. Even with the overcast weather the outdoor scenes were still filmed for that location; footage included cars pulling in to the restaurant parking lot & Owen and his crew walking in to the restaurant from what is normally an emergency exit. Off-duty Georgia State Patrol officers acted as security personnel for the set after dark and the Suwanee Police Department blocked the actual entrances to the Applebees from the road; their cruiser lights were flashing right up to about a minute or so before the rehearsal of Owen walking inside, and the lights went off for the cars going in to the parking lot as well. As far as I know, most if not all the scene tomorrow is at the Taco Mac. but the Atlanta weather tomorrow is clear skies and temperatures in the 70s! So if there are any outdoor scenes on the shooting schedule it’s possible they’ll take place. As far as I know though, they just want girls walking outside as background filler. One of those “point to the star and ask ‘what about that chick, she’s hot?’ things.

  2. I haven’t heard who else will be on set and the Owen tip was a rumor more than anything else, though I’m guessing he will be there. I’ll update the post if I hear more!

  3. Well tomorrow in Buckhead (Atlanta) where these scenes will be filmed it will be good weather, clear skies almost all around and temperatures in the 70s, so it’s hard to say, Monday’s filming schedule got changed at the last minute from a park scene to the Applebees due to the forecast, and the rain kept filming outside the Applebees sketchy up until about 7 p.m. (the actual shooting took place at about 8-9). But I would guess probably between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. yea that’s a bit vague but there are extras, crew, people gotta eat, etc. It was a 12-hour day Monday, the Gold Club ended up being about to or close to the same, most of these days are 14 hours crammed into 10 as much as they can do. The weather will work in their favor, any indoor scenes can be done quick and if there are any outdoor ones (I don’t know right now) such as walking down the sidewalk into the restaurant or standing outside pointing at women then those will be able to be taken care of too, rain is not in the forecast for Wednesday Atlanta.

  4. I don’t get Owen Wilson at all.

When he was in Philly and its environs in the spring of 2008 filming “Marley and Me”, he couldn’t have been more miserable.

He refused to even LOOK at the fans watching the filming in center city Philadelphia (turning his back and staring at the wall or hiding in a restaurant’s stairwell to stop anyone from looking at him between shots) and then he brushed right past a group of kids with their parents (young kids, like seven and eight-year olds; y’know, “Cars” fans) who had waited HOURS for him just to wave at them in West Chester, Pa, opting instead to run into his trailer and slam the door instead. He was totally a rude jerk; now he’s inviting people over to his car!

I think he was required to be clean during “Marley and Me” since it was the first film he was doing after his “suicide attempt” and now he’s back on the drugs.

Hope the money is worth the addiction …

  5. Wow, Phillygirl that’s quite a sour comment. Owen’s known to have up and down moods which I would think is just part of him now and probably can’t be helped. If he was in such a bad state I doubt he would have been allowed to film.

I am an Owen fan and don’t want to be greedy because I’ve asked for pictures and got them, but how come photographers don’t go to Atlanta to give us some clear shots instead of chasing Brad and Angelina?

  6. PhillyGirl, you are the one I don’t get.

Everyone has a bad day and Owen’s been under lots of scrutiny with all that’s happened. Either you like him or you don’t. But you have spent nearly 3 years bashing him on various sites because he doesn’t act the way you expect him to. Do you act this way around Circus animals if they don’t perform the way they should. I feel sorry for you that you don’t seem to follow a star you actually enjoy following, because by your various comments you don’t enjoy following Owen.

Fans with a healthy state of mind either stop following a star that ticks them off or they get over the bad experience and move on. Every star in Hollywood has I’m sure a bad experience a fan can tell about them. This is nothing new when you deal with celebrities that live in a fishbowl and find themselves under constant scrutiny with everyone they come in contact with. What is new is the unhealthy way you seem to have dealt with your bad experience.

    • No, not immediately, but they will be filming in Buckhead again Monday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th, a call went out earlier this morning (since deleted from one site but still visible on another) for background.

  7. I am pretty sure they are filming right now (5:30 on 3/25/10) at Gwinnett Diner in Lawrenecville, GA. Drove by and they have tents and looks like a set. (TK left this in another post, can anyone confirm?)
