The L.A. Times posted a story today about the film Water for Elephants, which will star Robert Pattinson, and the props company that is helping to “recreate the past” in the movie.

Water for Elephants is about a veterinary student who quits his studies at Cornell to join a traveling circus. It has been rumored that the movie would shoot at Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY, this summer. But, the following quote in The L.A. Times seems to imply that the Cornell scenes will now be shot in California:

The scene: a group of students, circa 1931, on the campus of Cornell University.

Jim Elyea’s task: to make sure the briefcases the students are carrying look authentic when the film begins shooting this May in Santa Paula, Calif.

We won’t know for sure if RPattz will be filming at Cornell until next month. The Cornell newspaper had announced an official decision about filming would be made in April.

  1. Filming in Ithaca would be nuts. While it would be nice to film there, the small town with all those crazy RPatz fans? The locals would NOT be happy.
