Kevin Smith recently announced that he will be shooting his upcoming hockey movie, Hit Somebody, in Detroit this year. The film is rumored to star Seann William Scott and Johnny Yong Bosch and will be set in the 1970s. Filming will most likely take place sometime late this year since Smith has already started working on Red State, his first horror flick, which is set to begin production this summer.

Today, the first TV series to be produced in Michigan, The Wannabes, held an open casting call for extras at the S3 Studios in Ferndale where the show is being produced. If you missed the casting call, you can find contact information for the production and learn more about the show at the official site, thewannabes.tv.

According to Production Weekly, Ruben Fleischer will being filming in Grand Rapids this July on 30 Minutes Or Less, starring Danny McBride as Dwayne.

Update: We heard that Wes Craven was in Ann Arbor, MI on 4.6 too. Scouting locations perhaps?

  2. I have mold in my home and I’ve been out of my home because of it and have lived with several people….I live in a condo but if I lived in a home it would have been torn down because it would have been a health hazzard and that would of helped me out a lot….the first time when I had the water problem I was out of my home 4 1/2 months, lived in my home for 10 months and became very ill…I had a company come out and test it and that’s when I moved out 15 months ago….I can’t afford to pay to have it cleaned up….15 months ago it would have cost $20,000.00 for just the basement but now since so much time has gone by the main part of the condo is infected and you can even smell the mold in the garage…if you can’t help me…can you tell me who I could contact…I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
