Our friends over at ComicBookMovie.com scored some scoop about where Captain America: The First Avenger is filming next week.
It looks like the flick, which is being housed at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England, will be “in the direct vicinity of 57 Hilton Street Manchester M1 2EJ” but the duration of the shoot is still unknown.
The movie, also known by its production name, Frostbite, began filming in Monday, June 28 and is expected in theaters July 22, 2011.
UPDATE:
We recently received an update from one of our readers, Alan, who clarified when Captain America will be filming in Manchester.
There has been some confusion in regards to the filming of ‘Captain America’ in Manchester. It is being reported that filming starts this week, however this is for a UK TV series called ‘The Acused’. ‘Captain America’ will be rolling into town in September and will be closing down streets in the northern quarter area of the city including Tariff St, Back Piccadilly and Hilton St. I work in the area and have spoken to people who have received notifications of filming in September. Production will then move to Caerwent, South Wales for 2 weeks to film war scenes.
[Thanks to Alan for the update!]
