Each summer, the Alamo Drafthouse takes classic movies on tour and shows them for free in the cities where they were made.
This year’s Rolling Roadshow Tour has included a screening of Dirty Harry in San Francisco, Robocop in Detroit, a Rocky marathon on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum, and several other films that have kept with this this year’s theme, “We Are All Workers”.
Tomorrow night (August 27) the series concludes with a screening of The Godfather 2 on the rooftop of New Design High School overlooking New York’s Little Italy.
If you remember, Robert De Niro tracked one of his targets in the movie across these same rooftops, making this one of the series’ most significant locales.
The screening will begin at sunset and you must bring your own blanket or chair. For more information and a map of the school, check out the Alamo’s blog here.
