Hulu’s new show “Only Murders in the Building” will premiere on August 31st and it was shot over the last 5 months in New York!
According to the official synopsis, the “comedy surrounds three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a murder occurs in their NYC apartment building, they are forced to work together to figure out what happened.”
Starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, the exteriors of the show were mainly filmed on the Upper West Side, in Manhattan. The main building used was The Belnord, on 86th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.
Built on 1908, it occupies a full city block, with over 200 units. In addition to the amenities, which include a fitness center, a sports court, a club lounge with a fireplace, dining room, children’s playroom, and teen room, it also has a 22,000 square foot courtyard and garden.
We were able to see some of the filming in April. Just a warning: it might contain some spoilers of the show!
