As we reported, Contagion is filming in Chicago today, but Steven Soderbergh will be taking his latest movie on the road and outside of the city for the next few days.
Tomorrow, Contagion will begin filming on location on Mint Lane in Glenview, IL.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the movie’s trucks and trailers will be parked on the 2600 block of Mint Ln on Thursday, Nov. 4. They will move to the 2200 block of Mint Ln on Friday, Nov. 5.
On Monday, Nov. 8, the movie will close down the Waukegan, IL end of the Amstutz, from Greenwood Avenue South to Genesee Street between6 a.m. Nov. 8 and 5 a.m. Nov. 9. The Amstutz was also the setting for chase scenes and traffic jams in The Blues Brothers, Groundhog Day and Batman Begins.
But again, don’t expect to see any of the movie’s biggest stars, including Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet, in Waukegan or Glenview this week. The movie’s stars aren’t expected to start shooting the film until the end of the month.
Other upcoming locations include a funeral home, elementary school, and a residence Wilmette, the Sara Lee headquarters in Downers Grove, and the old Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. You can read more about the other upcoming locations for Contagion here.
