As we reported a few weeks ago, the producers of Contagion are expected to shoot several scenes for the film in Wilmette, IL this week.
First, crews are expected to film at the private residence in the 600 block of Greenleaf Avenue in Wilmette on Nov. 24th. The scene will involve interior and exterior dialogue as well as a person being loaded into an ambulance and driven away. They will be prepping the site for two days (Nov. 22 & 23) and will breakdown the set on Nov. 29.
The movie is also expected to shoot at Central School, 910 Central Ave, Wilmette, on Nov. 23 and 29. They will also be prepping that location on Nov. 22.
To make things more confusing, we’ve had several reports that they will continue filming at the same location where they shot last week (on W Ogden, between Damen and PolkĀ in Chicago) on Nov. 22, 23 and 24 and at Gillson Beach on Nov. 23 and 24. All of these locations are subject to change, and we do know they’ve been shooting two units at a time, so check back with us throughout the week for updates!
Contagion is an action-thriller centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors tasked by the CDC with trying to contain it.
Though the big stars of the film, Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, and Gwyneth Paltrow originally weren’t expected on the set until next month, we’ve had several people report sightings of all three in Chicago already. If you spot the stars of Contagion on the set or around town, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
And, if you’re holding out for a guaranteed Matt Damon sighting, we know for sure Matt will be featured in a scene shooting at Kendall College on Dec. 13!
Update: They did begin filming on Greenleaf and at Central School in Wilmette on Monday, Nov. 22.
Has anyone had any sightings of the cast? I might go see filming tomorrow.
