‘The Avengers’ will be shot in New Mexico, New York, and Michigan

After confirmation that a Long Island studio was being prepped for The Avengers , followed by rumors that Marvel was going to move the entire shoot to L.A., today we’ve learned that most of the movie will actually be shot in New Mexico.

According to Variety, pre-production is already underway and principal is scheduled to begin in April.

While in New Mexico, the majority of filming will take place at Albuquerque Studios with some on location shooting taking place throughout New Mexico.

The movie will also spend time in Michigan and New York before wrapping production in September.

The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.  Joss Whedon is set to direct.
