For the second time this week, there are rumors circulating that Superman: Man of Steel will be filmed in Chicago, even though the film’s director, Zack Snyder, has said on several occasions that he will shoot the movie in Vancouver this summer.
A few days ago, FilmDogsOnline claimed that Superman: Man of Steel will be shot in Chicago this summer. But, that story was quickly debunked by an interview published in the Toronto Sun the next day in which Zack Snyder confirmed he was going to shoot Superman in Vancouver:
Superman will touch down in Vancouver and possibly Alberta this summer, confirms director Zack Snyder.
“I’ve got a great crew there,” he says, referring to Vancouver, where he made his last two movies Watchmen and Sucker Punch.
So, just when we thought the Chicago rumors were put to rest, Chicago Business wrote a story this weekend that says Superman will in fact be flying into Chicago in August:
Filming of Warner Bros. Pictures’ next Superman movie will take place in the Chicago area over two or three months starting in August, industry sources tell Crain’s, with production centered in far west suburban Plano.
Our best guess at this point? They’re splitting the shoot between the two cities, not unlike Breaking Dawn, which is currently shooting in Vancouver, after spending several weeks in Louisiana.

What happen to Brandon Routh
They should’ve kept Brandon Routh, however Henry Cavill will do.
Cavill’s performance in The Tudors was great. Cavill looks like a mean-bad-ass Superman and that’s what I would like to see on the big screen.
I hope they fill the movie with lots of actions and do away with all the idiotic comicals and boring soap opera love story & dramas like those idiot writers did in Superman Returns!
They will be shooting in Chicago, Russell Crowe has been spotted in my home town of Naperville which is about 30 miles outside of Chicago. he has been seen at Sullivans a local steak house.
