Joshua Jackson joins the cast of ‘Lay The Favorite’

A few weeks ago we announced that Justin Timberlake would begin filming Lay The Favorite in New Orleans next month, but it looks like Joshua Jackson may actually be filming that role.

According to IndieWire, Joshua Jackson has joined the cast of director Stephen Frears’ Lay the Favorite.

Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall are already attached to the cast of the gambling drama, which is based on the memoir written by Beth Raymer. Hall will star as Beth Raymer, a Las Vegas cocktail waitress who became one of the best sports gamblers in the world, although she questions her career choices after falling in love. Bruce Willis will play Raymer’s mentor, Dink Heimowitz.

IndieWire notes, “there’s no word on Jackson’s role, but we assume it would be Hall’s love interest. It’s most likely the role that Justin Timberlake was previously reported as being in the running for—there’s been no confirmation on his presence, or that of Catherine Zeta-Jones, who was linked to the project at the same time.”

Lay The Favorite will be shot this summer in Las Vegas and New Orleans.
