‘The Place Beyond The Pines’ production updates and charity auction announced

As we first reported a few weeks ago, The Place Beyond The Pines will begin filming in Schenectady, NY on July 25, and this week the first signs of pre-production began in the Upstate New York city.

Pines stars Ryan Gosling as a professional motorcycle rider who robs banks to support his son. Bradley Cooper will also star as a cop trying to catch him.

Schenectady’s film commission is keeping details about the movie closely guard to avoid “people who are rabid fans and want to hang around” but luckily, we have a few ways around that!

First of all, if you’re hoping to spot Gosling and Cooper filming, be sure to stay tuned to OLV! We’ll be setting up an Open Thread where fans can discuss the movie’s filming locations and share set photos in the next couple of weeks, and, since this is in our neck of the woods, we’ll also be making a few visits to the set ourselves!

Or, if you’d like a guaranteed meeting with the movie’s stars and director, Derek Cianfrance, CharityBuzz is auctioning off a set visit!

Here are the details:
