Zac Efron will begin filming the Untitled Bahrani Farm Film in Chicago this summer

Zac Efron is going to have a hectic summer.

As we reported earlier, Zac will begin shooting The Paperboy next month in New Orleans and as soon as that shoot has wrapped up, he’ll be headed to Chicago.

Zac has signed on to star in the Untitled Bahrani Farm Film, along with Dennis Quaid, which is tentatively scheduled to begin filming outside of Chicago on August 1.

Little is known about the moving, except that is focuses on a farmer whose farm expansion alienates his sons and wife. The film’s director, Ramin Bahrani has won several awards for his previous work, but this is his first movie with a high profile cast.

  1. Hi!
I was wondering, can you double check on Zac’s involvement in the Bahrani film? According to a NOLA magazine, filming for The Paperboy has been pushed back to July 25, which was why Sophia had to drop the film, so how would it be possible for him to start shooting the Bahrani pic just a week after filming for The Paperboy starts? I would really really appreciate it if you can confirm his involvement in the Bahrani pic, so please, and thank you.

  2. Thanks Pippa, yes we’re hearing the fifth as start date also, also keep in mind, stars often film multiple movies at a time, Bruce Willis is currently shooting like three movies, productions will make accommodations for a star if they want them in their film bad enough.

  3. Thanks for the responses. I’d really like to believe that filming for The Paperboy will start on July 5, but the way things look right now, with both Tobey Maguire and Sophia Vergara now out of the picture, I don’t think they can stick to the original plan–probably why Scene Weekly reported July 25 as the start date.

  4. thanks Pippa, interesting, I did find an aticle about them filming at the racetrack, have you heard of any other Iowa locations? Thanks!
