Is ‘Cosmopolis’ not filming in NYC after all?

Compared to the chaos that has ensued in other cities, like Vancouver, New York or L.A., where Robert Pattinson has recently filmed movies, the Cosmopolis shoot in Toronto was pretty low key.

Now that the shoot has wrapped (and has been celebrated with a wrap party at Charlie’s Gallery) many are turning their attention to NYC, where the movie is set and where it was originally reported filming would take place after they finished in Canada.

For now, we haven’t been able to confirm whether or not the production will spend any time in New York after all. Recent rumors claim that Cosmopolis will only have a second unit in the city (which means none of the movie’s stars will be in town) but, again, nothing’s for sure.

We do know that Rob is currently back in L.A. with Kristen Stewart. It’s been reported that the couple was spotted shopping at a vintage store in Sherman Oaks over the weekend. But that doesn’t mean he can’t return to NYC in the near future for a few days of shooting.

For now the best we can do is be on the look out for signs, casting calls, crew calls, or for anything that may remotely resemble the film hitting NYC. (And of course, be sure to let us know if you find a clue at olv@onlocationvacations.com!)

Though we aren’t sure if Rob will make it to NYC for Cosmopolis, we do know that he will be at San Diego Comic-Con later this week for the Breaking Dawn panel.

In the meantime, we have a few more fan photos of Rob greeting fans in downtown Toronto a couple weeks ago. Above is a photo taken by one of our commenters, Elizabeth, and below are a few pics from our friend Mr. Will-W. You can see more at his website here too!

  1. Hi Christine, Thanks for the shout-out. I am thrilled that Cosmopolis was considered a low-key movie shoot. (It didn’t seem low-key to me.) It gave fans a better chance to meet Robert Pattinson. I was fearful that it would be crazy and uncontrollable like his shoot for Remember Me in NYC in 2009 where the fan/pap pics were scary. It was the best summer in Toronto 2011!
