Richard Gere hit the red carpet at the Sundance Film Festival last night for the premiere of his filmed-in-NYC movie Arbitrage.
In Arbitrage, Gere plays Richard Miller, a billionaire hedge fund magnate trying to dump his company before his fraudulent ways catch up with him, a similar character to the businessman Edward Lewis who he played in Pretty Woman.
During the Q & A at last night’s premiere, Gere acknowledged the similarities, saying, “Someone asked me about that tonight, and I almost forgot about the other character.” he said. “They are two different types of films, this one is a reality-based film, the other one is not.”
In addition to last night’s premiere, Arbitrage will also be screened at the following locations this week:
Monday, Jan. 23, 6:30 p.m. » Peery’s Egyptian Theater, Ogden
Saturday, Jan. 28, noon » Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, Salt Lake City
Saturday, Jan. 28, 8:30 p.m. » The MARC, Park City
