As we’ve reported, the new film Writers has been filming in Wrightsville Beach, NC for the past week or so, but it looks like the production is moving inland, at least for a few days.
According to Star News, Writers is filming today in downtown Wilmington, NC at the Cotton Exchange, 321 N. Front St., and Old Books on Front Street, 249 N. Front St.
And on Monday, March 26, they will be filming again on Front Street, near Nick’s Dinner, 127 N. Front St. The shoot will feature “a ‘snow blanket’ effect with a biodegradable crushed paper material that will be vacuumed up immediately following filming of the scene …” They also plan to shoot at The George, 128 S. Water St., and Cape Fear Community College on Monday.
There is currently a filming permit pending to close Front Street between Princess and Chestnut streets for a two-hour period at some point between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Tuesday as well.
The movie, which follows the Borgens family and their love interests over the course of a year, stars Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Kristen Bell, Lily Collins, Logan Lerman, Nat Wolff, and Liana Liberato.

As I mentioned on the “Occult” page, either the Occult or Writers was setting up for filming at 8:30am this morning (April 3rd) on Water Street accross from the Hilton and parking deck. Numerous trailors were there, as well as 8 principle actors dressing rooms with a name on quotes on the door. Both movies appear to have about 8 credited actors, so I’m not sure which one it is, and exactly where and when they will be filming, but definately somewhere near their trailors parked on Water street.

“Writers” is currently setting up to film this evening at the Reserve at Forest Hills Apartment Complex in Wilmington. You can’t miss them off of Darlington Avenue. Trucks keep pulling in and they are currently setting up equipment. Pretty cool!
