The Jackie Robinson biopic starring Harrison Ford, 42, will not only be filmed in Chattanooga, TN and Atlanta, it will also spend a good portion of filming in downtown Macon, GA.
Elliott Dunwody, chairman of the Macon Film Commission, said much of downtown Macon could provide shooting locations for the film, which is set in the 1940s. “Most of it that is going to be shot here is going to be shot in the downtown area,” Dunwody said. “Because of the quality of downtown being preserved, there will be a lot of things shot there. (The film) will be a period piece, and we will be turning Macon, Ga., into several cities.”
Ford plays Branch Rickey, a baseball executive who signed Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers, in the flick which is gearing up to begin shooting next month.
The Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal will be in it too! I wish I was in GA.
