‘Grown Ups 2’ updates: Filming will take place in Marblehead, MA, Shaquille O’Neal is joining cast, & an open casting call will be announced next week

Sande Alessi Casting Boston has recently posted a casting call for stand-ins for Grown Ups 2 which states filming will may start as early as April 3 in Marblehead, MA.

The casting call also confirms Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Salam Hayek, and Maria Bello are all returning for the sequel to Sandler’s 2010 movie, Grown Ups. It also notes there will be a new addition to the cast – Shaquille O’Neal.

The first movie also shot scenes on Marblehead, at 100 Harbor Avenue, back in August 2009, but we don’t know if they will return to the same location for the sequel.

Though the casting call does say the shoot date is April 3, a second notice says they will be releasing more information about an Open Call on April 3, so that start date might not be entirely accurate. The second posting reads, “Open Call information for “Grown Ups 2″ being released on Monday, April 2nd! Please make sure you check back for the details!”
