Channing Tatum might film ‘Foxcatcher’ in Pittsburgh this fall

According to the Post Gazette, Foxcatcher, the real-life story of a chemical fortune heir who went to prison for killing an Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler, is expected to begin filming in Pittsburgh in October.

Foxcatcher follows John du Pont, the great-great-grandson of E.I. du Pont who founded the chemical company. In January 1996, John shot and killed David Schultz, a 1984 gold medal winner who lived at the state-of-the-art Foxcatcher National Training Center on the 800-acre du Pont property in Newtown Square, Pa.

Steve Carell has signed to play John du Pont, Mark Ruffalo will play David Schultz, and Channing Tatum is expected to play Mark Schultz, David’s brother.

According Dawn Keezer, director of the Pittsburgh Film Office, there have been some discussions with Foxcatcher but nothing is finalized.
