This week residents in Senoia, GA may notice a few changes around town but the new structures aren’t permanent, they’re only props for The Walking Dead.
According to the show’s location manager Mike Riley, Senoia will serve as a sanctuary in the midst of a zombie apocalypse in the third season. “The town is walled off,” Riley said. “Inside the wall is a the safe zone and a benevolent dictator runs the town.”
Among the changes in Senoia is a temporary, movable wall “meant to look like a gate stacked with items such as old tires and doors that can be used along the area of Main Street and Travis Street.”
The area in downtown Senoia on Main Street, from Seavy Street to Travis Street, will serve as the main set. According to one of our Twitter followers, @kimberlyann7903, “they just posted it (downtown Senoia) will be closed from 11pm Wed 6/6 to 6am Fri 6/8 for walking dead!” She also told us filming tomorrow, June 6, is expected to take place on Rising Star Road in Coweta County, just outside Senoia city limits.
Anther one of our Twitter followers sent us a few shots of the sets and downtown area where filming will be taking place which you can check out below. You can see them all at Braddstudios.com too.
