‘CBGB’, starring Alan Rickman, Rupert Grint, & Stana Katic, looking for Extras in Savannah, GA

As we were first to report, the movie CBGB, about the famous NYC club and it’s founder Hilly Kristal, will begin filming in Savannah, GA later this month and they are already looking for extras.

On June 25 the movie will begin filming at Meddin Studios, where interior club sets are currently being built, and at various locations around downtown Savannah. “We’re going to build the interior of the club on the stages here,” said director Randall Miller. “Then the plan is we’ll do some shooting on the streets of downtown Savannah — and finally a few days in New York.”

The movie will star Alan Rickman as Kristal, Stana Katic, Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry, the Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins as Iggy Pop, Johnny Galecki, Rupert Grint, and many others.

Producers will hold an open casting call from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on June 12 at the studio, 2315 Louisville Road in Savannah. Specifically, they’re looking for music lovers, musicians, motorcyclists, ’70s car owners and people with a ’70s “look.” You can also email submissions to extrascastingcbgb@accenterprises.com.
