‘Catching Fire’ might film scenes in North Carolina after all

Asheville, NC news anchor Russ Bowen is tweeting about Catching Fire again and this time he’s reporting there is a possibility the movie might, at least partially, be filmed in North Carolina after all.

Last month Russ tweeted the sequel would be filmed in Georgia (a rumor later confirmed by AJC) and not North Carolina as The Hunger Games was last year.

Now, Russ claims Lionsgate was back at Henry River in N.C., writing, “Lionsgate photographer recently visited Henry River (The Seam). Shooting there likely early fall.“

It does seem possible they’d use the Henry River site again and still move the bulk of the shoot to Atlanta, but it’s probably too early to know for sure.

Russ also tweeted the movie will film in Hawaii, which the cast had confirmed months ago.

Sources close to #Catchingfire tell me Kauai most likely shooting site for arena. To be shot last three weeks of filming #hungergames
