Berea, OH wasn’t just chosen as a location for Toy House because of its quaint charm, it also had something the director needed- a Fourth of July parade that doesn’t take place on the 4th.
“It’s got a small-town America feel and it has the town center we needed,” director Jordan Vogt-Roberts said. “It also has a Fourth of July parade that is not on July 4, but the 5th.”
The movie’s crew plans to shoot scenes during Berea’s July 5 parade tomorrow. According to Cleveland.com, “the parade begins at 7 p.m. from the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds’ Eastland Road entrance. It winds along Liberty Street, turns south on Front Street to Riverside Drive, moves around the city’s Triangle and heads back to the fairgrounds on East Bridge Street.”
“We’ll film the crowd and the actors looking at the parade,” Vogt-Roberts said. “We also plan to go to some other locations in the city.”
The movie will also film in North Royalton and Peninsula this month.
Toy’s House is a coming-of-age comedy about two teenagers who try their hand at living on their own in a rural area.
