“Revolution” begins filming in Wilmington, N.C.

As we reported earlier in the week, filming for the NBC series Revolution is officially underway in Wilmington, N.C. Though the pilot was shot in Atlanta, Wilmington was chosen for the series thanks to its impressive film incentives.

The show, about a world in which all forms of energy have disappeared leaving everyone in darkness and isolated from one another, was created by J.J. Abrams.

Thanks to one of our Twitter tipters, @colettuce22, we’ve learned Revolution is filming at the Roanoke Cement Factory, located at 6411 Ideal Cement Road in Castle Hayne, through Friday.

According to AA Casting , about 150 extras were needed for the “market” scene.

Revolution premieres Sept. 17 on NBC.

  1. Hi,

    Stacy here:

I am a writer, an animal activist, a big hearted, accepting person, with a personal relationship with God. I’m on a real, true journey, emotionally and geographically. I left 15 years of teaching to find my life, not someone else’s.

I’ve been working on a, “when the electricity goes off” novel. At first, I was afraid to watch Revolution, as I didn’t want your ideas, awesome by the way, to interefere with my modest story. My curiosity got the best of me; I am hooked!

I’ve also started, what I call, “Life part 2.” Starting new, shedding grief and pain. I get stronger every day.

Revulution shows what humans can do with hope and love.

I will be moving Wilmington soon, by the mid of May.I look forward to perhaps being an extra and getting a behind the scenes look.

Will see you soon and keep up the Great writing and acting.

    Your friend,

    Stace
