  1. how I wish pbrownonyouification on youtube could see this. She barges on studio property [instead of following procedure for apply for extra work] and gets a trespassing ticket, for which see blames Colin Farrell [yes, Totall-recall, over a year ago] some people think rules don’t apply to them.

  2. This is fantastic! Alot of these tips are just common sense but it’s sad how that just flies out the window sometimes when people see celebrities.

  3. […] Read the rest of the comic here, and make sure to follow Awkward Celebrity Encounters for the latest submissions from people who got just a little crazy when confronted with their dream star. Like, the guy who had the worst thought about Peter Dinklage, or the woman who did the “you go left, I’ll go right” dance in an elevator with Tina Fey. If they can joke about their celebrity missteps, so can you. 4. I’m an background extra, and even I know better. Don’t talk to a principal actor unless they talk to you first, which is rare. Just be nice by not saying anything.

  5. I’m glad someone finally said something about telling celebrities your life story. As nice as they try to be I’m sure they’re not interested in hearing how much you love them or how many times you’ve seen their films (or your collection of dolls) especially in between takes. They probably hear the same thing over and over again, and besides they’re probably trying to learn their lines.
And also the whole: Can I get a hug???? Can we take a photo with you giving me a hug???? Can we do the heart thing with our hands while we take a photo??? Unless you are a friend/family of said actor I don’t think it’s cool to put them in that position where they have to do it otherwise they end up looking like jerks.

  6. Don’t bother them when they are shopping or eating. it’s their life not a camera opp. There is a great Hollywood tale [from Hollywood Babalon book] about John Barrymore dining at the Brown Derby when a man came to his table requesting an autograph. Barrymore responded by calling the Matre D’, and telling him, “Remove this peasant” in a very Shakespearian manner, where upon two waiters grabbed the man by each arm and pitched him out. Ah, the Golden Years of Hollywood.

  7. Great tips! Was just at Vampire Diaries Convention, we had obnoxious girls yelling “take your shirt off” and the actors didn’t enjoy that and it would interrupt the great flow of stories they were telling. Thankfully most of audience was very respectful.

  8. Loved this post. I’ve lived in LA my entire life and have grown up seeing celebrities. Yes, it’s fun to see them out and about (like a real human being) but I’ve never bothered them while they were out in public. I’m pretty sure they have enough to deal with, such as avoiding paparazzi.
I’ve gone to quite a few tv sets on location, but in all honesty, I never go with the expectation that I will get to meet or say hi to an actor. I go for the pure fun of getting to see how some of the shows I watch get made and then seeing the finished product on my screen a few months later. If I get to watch them film cool scenes then that’s a great day spent on a set for me. If the actors have the time to come over and say hi and maybe take a picture, that’s just the cherry on top of the sundae.

*The only thing I would add to that list: we may only know the actors, but it takes an enormous crew of people to keep a production running smoothly. Respect the crew and the fact that they are there to do their job and they will respect you.

  9. I enjoyed the comic strip very much. I have often done extra work and I can’t believe what some fans will do. I even had one woman friend say to me. “They’re celebrities, so they are use to all of this.” It is no excuse to be rude and foolish behavior.
