Alexander Payne’s ‘Nebraska’ to film in Nebraska

Alexander Payne (The Descendents, Election) will begin filming his latest feature, Nebraska, in October.

The Nebraska Film Office confirmed that locations are being scouted across the state. Key locations will include small towns in northeast Nebraska and Lincoln. I suppose it makes sense for Nebraska to be shot in Nebraska.

“For this project, Alexander is particularly interested in rural towns that have kept their historic identity,” Nebraska Film Officer Laurie Richards said. “We have many towns that fit his location descriptions; it’s a challenge to find everything in a 60 mile radius or what we call “zone of production.”

The film, starring Will Forte and Bruce Dern, will chronicle a father and son’s trek from Montana to Nebraska to claim prize money.

  1. Well hello,
Is this getting to the right person? Anyway, I am told by my mother that you may have know my brothers John and Mark Mata in omaha. Both were born in Omaha and my father in law Bill Mantzaris says that my brothers in law Jim and Mike Mantzaris used to play with you in your younger years. Surprising coincidence and notably by I suppose, six degrees of separation, we are all intertwined in life. I personally choose not to waste this connection with all it’s possibilities. So I am in Omaha and if you need a person in one of your movies my name is Bill Theiler. I work for Union Pacific and I think it would be fun to be in one of your movies. Anyway, I’m 46 and am embracing my relatives and also everybody I have ever known. I find that it enriches my life and the lives of those I care about. Please consider contacting me at 4028968852. This is a long shot but I find it so fun and right that I don’t care. Please consider this. THanks
