The Untitled Jack Ryan Project, starring Chris Pine, filming on Wall Street this weekend

While the rest of us are picnicking, it looks like Kenneth Branagh, Chris Pine, Kevin Costner, and Keira Knightley will be working this Labor Day weekend.

According to several recently posted casting calls, “Wall Street Business Types”, “NYPD Sergeants”, “Wall Street Commuters”, “Joggers”, “Rollerbladers”, and “Dog Walkers”, are all needed in NYC for the Untitled Jack Ryan Project on Friday, 8/31 – Sunday, 9/2.

The Untitled Jack Ryan Project, based on the Tom Clancy character, is being directed by Kenneth Branagh (who is also playing the villain) and stars Chris Pine in the title role. Keira Knightley is in talks to portray his wife and Kevin Costner has recently signed on to play his mentor.

In addition to the above casting calls, one of our Twitter followers, @SesameSquirrel, sent us a flyer for a movie called Maryland which we believe is the code name for this film. The flyers noted filming will take place on 8/31 – 9/2 all along Old Slip, Wall St, Water St, Front St, and Beaver St in downtown Manhattan. You can the complete list of affected streets here.

Jack Ryan will primarily be filmed in Montreal and London this fall.

If you spot the movie filming around Wall Street this weekend, let us know about it or share your set pics with us at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

  1. We were held up for about 20 minutes late Saturday afternoon (Sept. 1) by the film crew as we tried to walk along the Old Slip across from Wall Street. There were several NYPD cars with lights flashing that were used in the scene. There were also a ton of extras dressed like Wall Street types walking briskly.
One of the crew that detained us said the movie was called “Maryland”, starring Chris Pine.

    • Watched you filming in NLBP in Barnet last week, the crane used dwarfed the local houses, can you confirm what film the filming was for. Thanks. Carolyn
